Warren, Vermont-based Mad River Distillers is teaming with distributor M.S. Walker to bring its award-winning spirits to the Empire State. The two are building on the successful existing partnership between the companies in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, one that has seen consistent double-digit sales growth since inception.

“M.S. Walker NY is excited to enter in this new distribution partnership with Vermont’s own Mad River Distillers in the New York market,” says Peter Ruggie, General Manager MS Walker NY/NJ. “Our company in New England has had great success with Mad River’s exceptional spirits and we are very happy to be further expanding our quality American craft-distilled spirits portfolio.”

Mad River Distillers plans to introduce seven craft spirits into the New York marketplace. The rum portfolio will be comprised of Mad River’s First Run Rum, Vanilla Rum, Maple Cask Rum and the 2017 San Francisco International Spirits Competition double gold award-winning PX Rum.

The whiskey lineup will include Mad River Bourbon and Revolution Rye Whiskey, which features some New York state rye varietals from the western shore of Lake Champlain.

All of Mad River’s spirits are 100 percent mashed, fermented, distilled and bottled in Vermont from high-quality ingredients in a converted horse barn at the company’s 200-acre historic farm in Warren, across the Mad River Valley from Sugarbush Resort.

“We’ve had a lot of inquiries from New York-based customers who brought home our products after visits to Vermont,” says Mimi Buttenheim, Mad River Distillers president. “I’m happy to be able to tell those customers now that they can ask for Mad River at their local bar or liquor store!”
