Book Launch Bar Crawl UPDATE: Tentative schedule announced!

barcrawlHere’s the itinerary for the bar crawl celebrating the launch of The Year of Drinking Adventurously. The six stops encompass many of the beverages featured in the book. I tried to make it as logistically manageable as possible…Most of the stops in the E. Village and Lower East Side are walkable. There’s a direct subway line from the LES to Williamsburg (J, M) so getting to Bushwick Country Club should be fairly simple (and there’s always Uber, if all else fails). These are subject to change, so keep checking this space, the official Facebook page for The Year of Drinking Adventurously and @JeffCioletti and @DrinkableGlobe on Twitter with the hashtag, #Drinking52. You can also track our whereabouts throughout the day, as we’ll be updating regularly.

2 pm: Otto’s Shrunken Head (tiki bar), 538 E. 14th St. (Manhattan, E. Village)
3:30 pm: Jimmy’s No. 43 (craft beer, craft spirits), 43 E. 7th St. (Manhattan, E. Village)
5 pm: Sakamai (sake and shochu) 157 Ludlow St. (Manhattan, Lower East Side)
6:30 pm: Wassail (cider), 162 Orchard St. (Manhattan, Lower East Side)
8 pm-ish: Bushwick Country Club (the birthplace of the Pickleback!), 618 Grand St. (Brooklyn, Williamsburg)
9:15ish: Noorman’s Kil (Whisk(e)y), 609 Grand St. (Brooklyn, Williamsburg)

About Jeff Cioletti

I’m Jeff Cioletti and The Drinkable Globe marries my two greatest passions: fine drink and travel. The search for the former usually drives the latter. I'm the author of The Year of Drinking Adventurously. When I’m not traveling and drinking— aww, hell, who am I kidding, even when I am—I'm editor-at-large of Beverage World magazine and its companion site, beverageworld.com. I’ve been at Beverage World since January 2003. I’ve been interviewed on beverage-related topics for CNN, Fox Business News, CNBC, Beer Sessions Radio, Canada's ROB TV, NPR, BBC World, BBC Radio, The Associated Press, The New York Post, Financial Times, Investors Business Daily, Advertising Age, WCBS-TV and several other media outlets. Beyond the journalism gig, I’m also a filmmaker; I wrote, produced and co-directed the feature film, “Beerituality,” a comedy set in the world of craft beer. The film is available on at http://www.storenvy.com/products/510365-beerituality-dvd and can be streamed and downloaded at amazon.com
